The Maintenance Choreographer opening is a causal temporary/seasonal with Entertainment Show Quality. The Maintenance Choreographer teach and maintain existing choreography to both Character and Equity performers involved in Walt Disney World shows or parades, on or off property. Responsibilities The Maintenance Choreographer maintain show quality by partnering with the Show Director, Choreographer or Dance Captain.
They maintain a current library of scripts, blocking books, rehearsal tapes, videos and music scores.
They stage all levels of Characters and Equity performers in the absence of Dance Captain.
Give notes directly to the Equity and Character performers, as well as communicate to Operational Management and the Show Director, Choreographer or Dance Captain.
Basic Qualifications Proven experience with teaching dance
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience and strong understanding of the latest dance styles and techniques
Demonstrated ability to learn and retain professional choreography
Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate performers dance abilities
Demonstrated ability to give constructive performance notes to performers regarding staging, choreography, stage presence, and generally accepted Disney performance standards
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
Ability to demonstrate a variety of styles of choreography and direction clearly and accurately
Successful completion of a creative skills assessment every two years.
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of the Actors Equity and Service Trades Council contracts
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Familiarity with the Disney Entertainment product and style
Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Dance Certification or equivalent
