Harpsichord, who will hold the Eugene D. Eaton, Jr. Chair in Baroque Music. Appointment

to begin August 2018. Duties:Instructional duties include teaching harpsichord lessons and directing the Early Music Ensemble. Teaching related courses in basso continuo, performance practice, and any additional areas of interest is anticipated. A secondary interest in organ is preferred. The successful candidate will maintain a significant national/international performing career, appropriate to an endowed chair appointment. Related scholarly activity is desirable though not required. The successful candidate will also serve on graduate committees; advise students in curricular matters and career development opportunities; participate in College, University, and professional service activities; and be directly responsible for student recruitment, leading the College of Music in building a harpsichord studio of distinction.Rank / Salary / Benefits / Start Date:Associate or Full Professor

the University of Colorado Boulder College of Music offers a wide range of

programs for undergraduate and graduate study, uniquely combining advanced

musical training with professionally oriented experiences and the rich

graduate degrees in 23 fields of study, along with an array of

The

Roser Piano and Keyboard Program at the University of Colorado Boulder,

well regarded nationally and internationally, is home to passionate educators

and performers skilled in all facets of keyboard study, including solo

performance, pedagogy, collaborative piano, chamber music, organ, harpsichord,

literature, jazz performance, and improvisation. The department features

internationally recognized faculty uniquely equipped to provide a strong

education to keyboardists of all kinds. Undergraduate students may choose to

pursue BA, BM, or BME degrees. MM and DMA degree programs include extensive and

individually considered requirements in repertoire, recitals, and research

work.

In April 2017, longtime

College of Music supporter and former Music Advisory Board chair Becky Roser

endowed the Roser Piano and Keyboard Program. With her gift, Roser paved the

way for the Piano and Keyboard area to offer more support for students and

guest artist opportunities. Roser, who herself has played piano since she was a

young girl, is equally aware that, in a larger sense, Piano and Keyboard, due

to its collaborative nature, reaches all areas of the College.

In 2020, the College of

Music will celebrate its centenary with the opening of a new wing, which will

house new Piano and Keyboard studios, two new piano labs, and new rehearsal and

performance spaces.','!*!The successful candidate will either hold an earned doctorate in music or a master’s degree in music and a commensurate record of professional achievement.  A record of professional performances and college/university teaching experience is expected.
