Hours: 20-35 hours per week June - August;
15-30 hours per week September-May
THE POSITION: Union City Community & Recreation Services is recruiting for Teen Recreation Leaders to work at our Teen Camp Programs who are mature, energetic, creative, organized, responsible leaders who enjoy working with their hands and mentoring teens ages 12-16.
Under direct supervision, leaders are responsible for planning and implementing sports, daily games, arts-n-crafts, drama, songs, science and projects. Leaders will also chaperon teens on field trips and swimming. Must be available for 6-8 hours shifts Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8 AM - 6 PM.
Plan and lead recreation activities: games, art, visual arts, crafts, dance, computer lab, life skills and enrichment activities.
Supervise teens onsite and offsite during field trips.
Be able to communicate effectively with people from various cultural backgrounds and ages.
Maintain a safe program environment and facility. Includes basic clean-up and sanitation duties.
Work with little supervision.
Sense of humor
Ability to stay calm under stressful situations

GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
All positions require certain physical abilities which may include occasional to frequent standing, sitting, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, running and climbing in the performance of daily activities, as well as the ability to withstand working in an outdoor environment with exposure to sun, dust, wind, pollen and vegetation. Positions may also require physical coordination, repetitive movements, and the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
