MUSIC TEACHER
at Lincoln School of Science & Technology for the 2018/2019 school year. Salary will depend on education and experience; placement is on the Teacher Salary Schedule, with entry level candidates starting between Step 1 and Step 10. The position requires:

rn QUALIFICATIONS:
rn Current Colorado Teacher License, Music Endorsement, or be eligible to apply
rn Bachelor Degree or higher
rn Skilled in both general and instrumental music instructional strategies
rn Familiarity with the State of Colorado Music Standards
rn Strong collaborative skills
rn Strong knowledge of child development
rn Ability to establish positive, effective working relationships with coworkers, students, and parents
rn Exemplary classroom management skills
rn Skilled in time management and organization•
rn Strong knowledge of instructional programs and practices and assessment
rn Ability to employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies
rn Ability to create a positive learning environment for students
rn Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
rn Ability to lift 50 lbs.

rn DUTIES
rnTeachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach. The elementary Teacher is an expert in literacy and mathematics and
rn is knowledgeable in all other content that he or she teaches (e.g. science, social
rn studies, art, physical education, or world languages). The secondary Teacher has knowledge of literacy and mathematics and is an expert in his or her content endorsement area(s).

Teachers provide instruction that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards; their District’s organized plan of instruction; and the individual needs of their students.
rn Teachers demonstrate knowledge of student literacy development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
rn Teachers demonstrate knowledge of mathematics and understand how to promote student development in numbers and operations, algebra, geometry and measurement, and data analysis and probability.
rn Teachers demonstrate knowledge of the content, central concepts, tools of inquiry, appropriate evidence-based instructional practices and specialized character of the disciplines being taught.
rn Teachers develop lessons that reflect the interconnectedness of content areas/disciplines.
rn Teachers make instruction and content relevant to students and take actions to connect students’ background and contextual knowledge with new information being taught.
