Our client, an exciting entertainment and music company, is seeking to hire a Finance Manager to join their Los Angeles office. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing financial accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls. The position will also play a key part in system implementations. Additionally, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, including examining and processing accounting records, preparing financial statements, assisting with actual versus budget variances, and other ad hoc projects. The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.REQUIREMENTS:The following four requirements are essential to the role:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience• Minimum of 2 years of experience working at a CPA firm• Prior experience in the entertainment industry required, music industry experience preferredRESPONSIBILITIES:The following are essential functions to the role, including but not limited to:• Develop and implement financial accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls• Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and booking of monthly journal entries andaccount reconciliations• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.• Work with financial planning to provide monthly actual vs. budget variance explanations• Process vendor invoices• Prepare bank reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner• Create purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner• Process expense reports in accordance with departmental procedures• Responsible for accounting to third party royalty participants (e.g. Artists, Producers, Mixers, SideArtists, Samples, etc.)• Oversee accounting and payment of all mechanical royalties• Assist in developing manuals for accounting department• Play critical role in implementation of a cloud-based accounting system and Concur Expense• Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting• Complete special projects as assignedADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)• Prior experience in a Manager or Senior Financial Analyst role, or related experience• Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving skills and resourcefulness• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels• of the company• Ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines in a calm manner• Uphold a strict level of confidentiality• Ability to function in a demanding environment with competing and changing priorities• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)• QuickBooks\/Sage Intacct experience a plus• Concur Expense system experience a plusPlease submit your resume to be considered.We would like to thank you for applying.
