Principal Responsibilities: J Camps at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Choreographer for our musical theater program, Omanoot. Omanoot, a beloved J Camps tradition and the beating heart of our camp culture, is open to rising 4th-8th graders and runs from June 25-August 10 (7 weeks). The Choreographer is responsible for the creation and teaching of all numbers throughout the production, while working with the director.The ideal candidate will have experience putting on a full-scale production within a short amount of time, and be willing to work with a dynamic team of co-staff including a musical director, director, etc. as well as general staff to assist in day-to-day activities. The date of the show (Beauty & the Beast Jr.) is Thursday, August 9, 2018. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be willing to: Attend Orientation Week (June 19-24) Work from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday Work with a group of 10 children with co-staff Swim in our pool and run around outside throughout the summer Go on occasional exciting field trips Smile all summer long Positively impact the lives of children and peers and instill a love and passion of theatre Agency Information: The JCC of Northern Virginia is dedicated to offering quality programs, activities and services which emphasize Jewish culture, identity and values to people of all ages and backgrounds.
