Two Rivers Public Charter School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, instructional leader to become the instructional guide of a vibrant educational community.
The middle school music teacher will teach music to sixth through eighth graders and work with other educators to integrate the arts throughout the educational program.
About Two Rivers
Two Rivers Public Charter School serves a diverse group of 800 students in preschool through eighth grade. Staff at Two Rivers create an exciting educational environment in which students and staff become a community of learners on a journey of discovery. Two Rivers uses Expeditionary Learning, an educational model that emphasizes interactive, hands-on, project-based learning. The school focuses on the whole child, recognizing the importance of character education and the social-emotional needs of children while helping them achieve academic excellence.

An integrated arts program and a content-based Spanish program augment the school's demanding academic program. Ability to instruct students in vocal and instrumental music and foster music appreciation
Demonstrated ability to teach music in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based to promote self-discovery and critical thinking
Demonstrated ability to guide students to achieve high academic expectations
Clear understanding of curriculum, instruction, and child development
Demonstrated ability to arrange for showcases of student work
Demonstrated commitment to meet the needs of every child in a diverse population
Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team including classroom teachers, special education instructors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other experts
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as a member of a team
Enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment
Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
A bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 from a competitive college or university is highly preferred, a master's degree is preferred. Urban teaching experience preferred.
