Position:Gospel Choir Director and Piano Accompanist
Location:The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Schedule:Part Time – Under 20 hours per week; Must be willing and able to work on Sunday, as well as participate in weekly evening rehearsals. Occasional Saturdays may be required in performance of duties.

Salary and Grade:$25.00 per hour; 79 Non-Exempt
The Gospel Choir Director and Piano Accompanist plans, organizes, and directs the Gospel Choir, as well as provides piano accompaniment for Sunday Worship services, music groups, and special events, as needed.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and at least one year formal music training and experience playing the piano in a comparable setting OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Must have knowledge of the proper methods for playing the piano. Ability to read music and play by ear. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must possess an appreciation for and understanding of The Mission of The Salvation Army.
