Description: Salary Range: $2,643 - $4,377 per month, according to education and experience Note: This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position. Note: This position is on a 10\/12 Pay Plan, which is equivalent to ten months of salary distributed over a 12-month period. The scheduled months off will be June and July. Organizational Description: The Department of Music at Fresno State was one of the original departments when the university was founded in 1911, and continues to be a leader in music education and artistic performance in the Central Valley and the state at large. The Department has a busy performance schedule of over 150 performances a year, programming full symphonic and choral works, operas, festivals and master classes. The Department of Music also provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in music for those planning for professional careers as performers, composers, conductors, public school teachers, and studio teachers, as well as those preparing for advanced degrees. Overview: The Collaborative Pianist II will collaborate with other pianists in the Department as well as faculty and staff to provide piano accompaniment for students and faculty in ensemble and solo rehearsals and performance. This is a full-time position that requires evening and weekend availability. Position Summary: Accompanying needs in the Music Department include: Rehearsals and performances for students\u2019 senior and graduate recitals (to include a recital hearing and dress rehearsal per student) Instrumental and vocal juries and performance exams Instrumental and vocal coaching sessions and classes Rehearsals, performances, and tours with the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Community Chorus coordinated with the Director of Choral Activities Rehearsals and performances with the Opera Theatre Tuesday and Thursday recital hour performances with students Auditions as needed Annual Concerto Competition Guest recitals, festivals and master-classes All duties are shared with other accompanying staff and graduate assistants. Job Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in music plus two years of experience accompanying and collaborating with instrumentalists, singers, and choral ensembles at the university or professional level Two years of experience with instrumental, vocal, operatic, and choral repertory A history of regular attendance and positive performance appraisals
