KSL-TV is seeking a smart, aggressive and experienced journalist to join our nationally
recognized, award-winning Special Projects (Enterprise) Team. If you are the kind of
journalist who desires to produce relevant, in-depth features, human interest stories and
hard-hitting pieces this position is for you.
Assume primary producer responsibility for highly-promoted, well-researched Enterprise
stories for regular newscasts.
Show a unique gift for powerful, emotional and memorable story-telling.
Demonstrate ability to produce long-form documentary style programs, once or twice
Write clear, concise and creative television stories.
Define stories and programs that meet the stated mission of KSL-TV, and of are high
viewer interest to all Utahns.
Depending on your experience and background some management oversight of other
content producers may be part of your responsibilities.
Achieve accuracy, fairness and topical relevance in reporting and production of stories.
Attend story and documentary planning meetings and give input to news talent and fellow
producers regarding coverage.
Consistently meet deadlines as defined by KSL management, News Director, and
Enterprise Managing Editors.
Set an example of professionalism and leadership. Project an appropriate professional
appearance and demeanor.
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management and community.
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
College degree in journalism, communications, related field, or equivalent.
Ability to conceptualize production for each story and to timely assign production
elements to appropriate news, production and Enterprise personnel.
Knowledge of news scripting program ENPS or similar newsroom software, and the ability
to utilize state-of-the-art television technology. Ability to edit video content on Adobe
Premiere is valuable.
Prefer those with knowledge of community organizations and resources.
Proven ability to handle stress.
Lift, move and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hand, and/or fingers.
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication.
