This position will own business development and stewardship for all Ad Sales related efforts across Distribution Partners and Local Resellers directly, in addition to internal partnership with VCBS Streaming, DBD, and Local Ad Sales teams.Description
ViacomCBS (VCBS) is a market leading company in the programmatic CTV streaming space! The Senior Director, Programmatic Partnerships role will be responsible driving revenue across Distributor Platforms & Local Reseller partners across the entire the ViacomCBS portfolio (Viacom, CBS, & Pluto TV). Will partner with the head of Programmatic Partnerships for key business development and stewardship across Distribution Platforms with a goal of driving crucial VCBS Ad Sales needs. Key partnerships included but not limited to:
• Distribution Platforms: Roku, Amazon, Comcast, Charter, Dish/Sling, Samsung, LG, & Vizio
• Local Resellers: Gamut, Premion/TEGNA, Sinclair Broadcasting, Hearst, & Katz Media
The ideal candidate will be an individual who understands the MVPD/Digital Distributor marketplace, with Programmatic background. This candidate should also have extensive business development experience, working directly with clients as well as key internal stakeholders. Additionally, this candidate will have management responsibilities and opportunities to grow a team with appropriate business support.
Responsibilities:
Distributor Partnerships
• Negotiate, in concert with Head of Programmatic Partnerships, key ad sales related business terms with Distribution Platforms, while working closely with VCBS Streaming & Digital Business Development teams as well as VCBS Product, Ad Ops, Yield & Legal teams
• Strategize creative ways to grow ad sales revenue with distribution partners that align with VCBS’ overall marketplace approach
• Steward relationships with all distribution partners with support from team, acting as primary VCBS POC for all day-to-day partnership management, which includes client communications, deal health monitoring, & liaising with internal VCBS teams across business, product, and ops related items
• Partner closely with Programmatic Senior Leadership Team to help drive VCBS’ go to market strategy for Direct Sales & Programmatic Direct in an ever-evolving world
Local Reseller Partnerships
• Vet, negotiate, and sign new Local Reseller partnerships, in addition to growing revenue from current relationships
• Partner with Head of Programmatic Partnerships to build out VCBS local ad sales strategy for Programmatic Indirect Video monetization lanes, working closely with key VCBS direct ad sales stakeholders to maximize dollars in a non-cannibalistic way
• Drive important market requirements within VCBS in collaboration with Ad Ops, Product, Yield, Legal, & local Ad Sales
Qualifications
• 7 years of programmatic experience as a video specific publisher, MVPD, App Platform, TV Manufacturer, or Technology Vendor
• Deep understanding of CTV/FEP video landscape from a business perspective (SSPs, DSPs, Mediation Platforms, App Platforms, etc.)
• Knowledge of business relationships between Distribution Platforms and TV centric video publishers
• Product & Ops knowledge of CTV/FEP a plus
• Excellent client facing skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead client meeting and own overall relationships
• First-rate analytical and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive business performance / decisions
