The Creative Director will ensure design excellence for all visual and graphic elements for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.
They will set the visual tone for how people perceive and experience our content wherever and however they engage with us. This role includes hard news shows, magazine shows, all platforms and significant projects. This individual is also responsible for recurring and non-recurring special events, elections, conventions and breaking news. They will lead the strategic design planning, implementation and operational excellence for these events.
The Creative Director will provide inspiring leadership for the overall on-air look and sound of all news programs. This individual will lead the graphic team through business partnerships and collaborative efforts to align news and digital shows with a complementary brand architecture. Your guidance and experience will influence the overall CBS News brand, working closing with marketing, operations and editorial teams to achieve industry-leading outcomes.
The position requires comprehensive execution management of the graphics department and oversight of all graphic artists operationally. Clear communication and team leadership will be critical in turning the creative vision into a reality.
Creatively brilliant, with an eye for detail and next generation thinking, this person will be exceptional in their field.
Objectives:
Industry-leading design and creative oversight for our programs and news brands.
Lead and provide oversight of the centralized graphics team.
Rolling discovery and execution of cutting-edge graphics, including templated and customized graphics using the latest tools and technology.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee design and animation teams from idea, research, through to final production.
• Lead the development of brand systems to be used across multiple platforms and for different audiences.
• Provide strategic guidance to ensure that design solutions support specific business goals.
• Ensure that teams deliver exceptional projects creatively and aesthetically pleasing on air, while leveraging the latest technology, market trends and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with partners including Stations, Sports and Marketing to create campaigns that align across all platforms and divisions.
Requirements:
• Minimum 8 years of design and brand experience or closely related discipline.
• Focused, respectful, and inclusive leadership skills with a track record of people management success.
• Exceptional conceptual, creative skills and outstanding strategic instincts.
• Thorough understanding of design concepts.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Experience in AR and 3D animation.
• Articulate written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage workflow and deadlines for multiple projects across teams.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
